Future in network security

Jericho Forum founder weighs on on future of network security. Enterprise connectivity is exploding, driven by globalization, convergence, virtualization and social computing. As corporate perimeters dissolve, the security focus switches towards application and data-level security solutions. The fundamental strategies to network security have been to limit access to resources and to minimize network connectivity. These are contrary to development of value in networks. Typically, the more people or devices that can access the resource, the greater the value of the resource. The future of network security will focus on preventing the current and future threats that the internet brings. New Internet Trends that Threatens Your Infrastructure Security The internet has certainly changed the way people work, as a result, it also changed the way businesses operate. The future of network security might be difficult to define. But one thing is clear - it will certainly be richer and more sophisticated. Determining how to plan for a business environment in which everyone is connected and security expectations are high is not trivial, and it can only be resolved by implementing tight network security measures and following best practices. Future network security Intelligent society and industry will transform telecom networks into the primary platform for business innovation. As the number of connected applications and devices continue to increase exponentially, so too will the economic value which relies on their integrity. In the very near future, security will be defined entirely in terms of “who should have access to what”, with “who” and “what” woven into the fabric of the network as opposed to relying on applications to handle identity, as we do today. Simple really, but it is only now that the technologies and standards are coming to market to deliver this vision. Hackers and cybercriminals will soon have just as much access to AI technology as enterprise IT teams do, meaning the fate of network security will be determined first and foremost by which side knows how to use AI best.

In its simplest term, network security is a set of rules and configurations designed to protect the integrity, confidentiality and accessibility of computer networks

Gartner has just published a report: “The Future of Network Security Is in the Cloud,” spotlighting the concept of the secure access service edge (SASE). 1 Jan 2015 Software defined networks which include built in security modules. * Each individual endpoint / server being firewalled. No more "DMZ". * Auto creation of  31 Jan 2008 Who needs network security? Why don't we just build encryption and antimalware protection into end-points and simply enjoy open networks? Network Security is the process of taking physical and software preventative measures to protect the underlying networking infrastructure from unauthorized

The future of security: A combination of cyber and physical defense With more items gaining web connectivity as part of the Internet of Things movement, the need to protect physical devices from The future of network security is certainly going to be bigger than what it is now. With everything going digital, network security is no longer optional. It'll only move further in that direction. Network security methods combine several defenses layers at the edge and in the network. Each layer of network security implements standards and controls. Over the past three decades, as companies have created new security technologies to help defend businesses and consumers, attackers have quickly adapted. While most technologies raise the bar that attackers have to vault to compromise a business network or a consumer system, security technology has largely failed to blunt their attacks.
